If you’re ever in my neck of the woods…
1. Amazing new places to eat and drink in our little hometown (Powell, OH)
Kraft House No. 5. The chef at this little spot in downtown Powell is wildly creative and still devoted to scratch cooking. We’ve been to this restaurant twice and have been incredibly impressed both times. The menu is small, but full of dishes that I would love to try. The daily specials are worth checking out. This little place has risen to the top of my favorite place to go. 20+ great, mostly local beers on tap, an inventive cocktail selection, incredibly flavored meal selections, and desserts that are off the charts. And now they’re offering brunch. What more could a girl want?
The Daily Growler Strictly beer, but oh what a selection! 60 different types of beer on tap. Fill yours up and bring it home. They recently offered up Columbus Brewing Company’s Ales for ALS selection, brewed with a proprietary hop blend with proceeds supporting ALS research, an effort near and dear to my heart. It was a fantastic IPA.
2. Progress. This has not been a month of photo finishes, but rather steady progress towards goals. In the house we’re trying to sell, I’ve stained the deck, stairs, and mailbox, painted the door, touched up the walls, had new carpeting installed. At the new house, wallpaper was stripped. Paint and carpeting have been chosen. (And purchased. Yay for the 40% off sale at Sherwinn Williams this past month.) Weeds were pulled (but not by me!). The mailbox post was dug. Looking back, we were out-of-town over two weekends this month and have been working around lots of showings while we continue to live in the house we’re selling. We’re stressed, but we’re making lots of progress. Next month, I’m hoping to have more pictures of completed transformations, but I’m happy to be making strides, especially if those are steps away from this decor.
Say good-bye hideous cyclists border and terrifying mural!
3. A place to track all of those goals. I bought a new, lovely personalized planner from Plum Paper Designs. I’m exceedingly picky about how I like my planner to be organized so that I can easily track everything in one spot. Appointments, goals, to-dos, etc. This planner is highly functional. And pretty.
4. Milestones. Gabby started clapping this month and putting her hands up for “so big!” and Alex lost his first tooth. In an unexpected playground accident. But he’s doing quite well sporting the hockey player look.
